Thanks to previous reviews I watched "A Hidden Life" - very good. I'll have to check out "surprised by Oxford". Not sure I can handle "Hacksaw Ridge" but glad to know about it. Thank you!

We went to watch Surprised by Oxford in Oxford last year, and it was fantastic. We were the only people there under the age of seventy, and I was the only man. I think many people have grown disillusioned with christian media, and so I hope this list goes some way to changing that.

Grace and Peace,

Adsum

"Greater" is another one! One of my favorites! True story about Brandon Burlsworth!

I loved Sophie Scholl (there's an amazing book, too: A Noble Treason by Richard Hanser), Amazing Grace, A Hidden Life (so, so beautiful!), Of Gods and Men. I've not seen Surprised by Oxford but want to. The book by Carolyn Weber was beautiful, so I'll have to add the movie to my list.

The main character in Hacksaw Ridge, Desmond Doss, is a Seventh-day Adventist, not an orthodox Christian. This movie is an inspiring demonstration of faith, but I wouldn't consider it a Christian movie.

Thanks for this, David. Brett entitled this post "10 Non-Cringy 'Faith-Based' Movies" so I think he would agree. Appreciate your comment.
