Rudolph really does pack a good nostalgic punch. And our family probably watches “Elf” at least a half a dozen times. I haven’t seen The Family Man, but we’ll check it out! One that was surprisingly good was the more recent animated “Grinch” that came out just a few years ago.

Yes, we watch Elf on repeat during this season. We also bought the newer Grinch as well, but I haven't gotten to see it yet. As I said in the description, be sure to check out the content for The Family Man. There are some scenes to edit for sure. That said, it's ultimately a story about the emptiness of worldly pursuits.

We always watch Rudolph, The Grinch (original) and Elf too.

I grew up in a non-Christian home and have good memories of National Lampoon's Christmas Vaction. I watched Home Alone way too much (but have introduced it to the kids, who love it now)

With our kids (8 &5), we watch The Star (2017). A great way of implicitly telling the Christmas story from a different angle.

Without the kids, my wife enjoys watching Love Actually (with some skips), and as much as Bruce Willis says otherwise, Die Hard is a great watch, too.

I've actually never seen Love Actually but have many friends that love it. Yes, I know it needs some skips but I want to watch it some day. Funny enough, there's actually a Die Hard advent calendar of Hans Gruber falling off the Nakatomi plaza...I found it on Amazon one time. Thanks for sharing!

Elf really is a modern classic. We don't have any family Christmas movie traditions yet, but this might be the first year to start!

We do too. I love that it's something I grew up with and can share with my children. Also, It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown and Charlie Brown Thanksgiving make annual appearances at our house the months prior to Christmas.

The Family Man is low-key one of my favorite Christmas movies. I am right there with you, John. It's such a beautiful celebration of family and the joys of being a husband and a father. Glad this is on your list.

But It's a Wonderful Life as a mere "honorable mention"? For shame, sir.

So glad to find someone else out there who loves The Family Man. I feel that it's so underrated!

I know...I know. It's a Wonderful Life is an excellent movie but it wasn't one that was consistent when I was a child and we haven't found a way to work it in to our rotation of movies. Zak, out of appreciation for your "rebuke" I'll try and sit the family down to give it a watch this year!

Santa Claus is Coming to Town (with the voices of Fred Astaire and Mickey Rooney), The Little Drummer Boy, Joyeux Noel (this is the true story of the Christmas Eve truce between Great Britain, France and Germany during World War I; not one for younger children - preview first), Alvin and the Chipmunks (1981), Holiday Inn, A Little House on the Prairie Christmas.
